Not that famously it seems. He frets about traffic decline and wants to be more widely read, yet his headlines have inside jokes?

Reasonable assertions followed by breathless hype for the Apple watch.

I didn't get that at all. In fact he seems to be suggesting what Apple's thinking may be in terms of the Apple Watch fitting into their strategy.

The entire Apple's New Market section is muddled. Apple will "leave smartphones behind" for "foundational services" which are accessed...through a smartphone.

Its because we're coming to the end of the smartphone boom. Processors are about as fast as they can go within the energy and heat envelope of current technology and displays high enough resolution that they are the start of the VR boom. But the easy gains are gone because no one has any idea how to make a smartphone which will run at full power for 24 hours.

The content of the article relating to the watch boils down to 'this is why it makes sense for Apple to make a watch' and you regard that as hype?

Bing is just on Siri and Spotlight in Yosemite. All versions of Safari still default to Google. In fact that default deal will end soon, and Bing and Yahoo want to replace Google as the default.

If working shifts were staggered that would do more to reduce congestion I think.

I don't see that happening any time soon. More likely to have the automated cars first.

Far more likely are car accidents and new frontiers in insurance liability.

Are there any young sexy hipster actuarial startups? The bidding war starts now.

Interesting quotes from the CEO Eben Upton. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/02/02/windows_10_raspberry...

Too bad Google Drive is taken.

Its turned into shorthand for "seeing objects in space that aren't really there". They could have also gone with "compugraphic hallucinations" or "pink elephant computing".

Skeuomorphic UI design makes a comeback ;) Ironic that after they push for flat UI that this device is going back to 3-D UI (obviously 3-D is the whole point). It might look bad if light sources of the rendered objects are not consistent with your surroundings.

It seems unlikely that how charitable the company or person you're buying from would have a meaningful impact on consumer decisions. If that were so Newman's Own or similar companies would dominate over other food brands.
