We're hiring for a superstar Engineering Lead to join our engineering team.
Mutiny is re-inventing the media measurement market. We take disparate datasets and connect them to take marketers from 'I think' to 'I know'. The power of that analytics revolution empowers marketers to take control of their budgets and start investing in effective, rather than efficient (read shit media) media.
Engineering lead will be architecting the data warehouse sitting underneath the platform to help us to do more, engineer more and execute faster.
We value autonomy, outcomes, speed and contrarian attitudes. Jump onto LI to apply or find one of our founders and just message. People with good GitHubs are preferred.
Well, given there's shipping costs here blowing out and Prime has been proven to be losing money the more a customer buys, not sure your statement holds up.
I'm certain there's some compelling argument to made about Amazon abusing its market position but this isn't it.
You say "Prime has been proven to be losing money the more a customer buys" like that isn't an obvious consequence of having flat pricing for shipping. The idea that Prime and Amazon's shipping as a whole are a loss leader isn't a new insight.
Loss leading is different. It's when you discount a product to attract people to an overall experience (a supermarket, for example). Not when you discount the price of your core product.
My intent (this is my article) with the Luddites was to show that technological change also drives social change. In the case of the Luddites, they accurately recognised that automation will eventually kill "jobs" (at least as we understand them). It's fairly logical that new governance emerges as conditions in society change.
But isn't that the whole point of technology? Ultimately we want to fulfill all our needs without any more effort than physics requires. As we get closer to that we have to shift society around, but isn't that a good thing?
Definitely. I just suggested capitalism wasn't fit for purpose. The reason I use Luddites as an example is because it was a violent reaction to a social problem created by technology.
That's not a bad problem, but it's also worth recognising that we've got to think of our social structures to keep pace with the great things technology is doing for our lives.
