I have six of the previous generation controller and I love them, only minor annoyance is pairing them occasionally. I don't really use the haptics part all that much though

if the purpose is to bootstrap, you could also use something like a leather belt drive off a central shaft, which would require different power sources but ones that a higher percentage of could be made with a lathe
there's a huge difference between "feature that mostly works and is kinda neat" and "5000 pound robot relies on this to work all the time or people will probably get hurt at minimum" in how much you should trust a feature.
Doesn't really matter if an imgTo3d script gets a face's depth map inverted, kinda problematic if your car doesn't think there's something where there is.
I think this means that personal branding is going to get even more important than it already is (for example, people watching movies specifically because of Ryan Reynolds, or avoiding them because of Jared Leto)
