There is already a smart toaster that toasts the toast according to the desired browning level and not simply according to time. It even manages completely without high-tech. The only catch is that the model is 70 years old and is no longer in production. But there is a great video from Technology Connections on YouTube about it: The Antique Toaster that's Better than Yours Link: https://youtu.be/1OfxlSG6q5Y?feature=shared
WLED has many really cool advanced features like support for segmentation of one led strip into multiple ones, Synchronization with other instances, Alexa/Google Home support, Phillips Hue Emulation, HTTP API, Controlable over DMX with E1.31 or ArtNet.
There exists even a sound reactive fork. Which analyzes(volume and FFT based) the audio directly on the ESP32.
I just upgraded my wifi card from my MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012). And I love it. Wifi AC and unlock with Apple Watch worked out of the box. Also the upgrade process is easy to do and you have a reason to finally clean the inside of your mac.
Typing this on my Mid 2012 rMBP, I'm very interested in the details.
(I put off upgrading because of keyboard issues, and now with the new "Apple Silicon" coming, plus, the machine is great-- I did replace the battery at one point but other than that it's been completely solid.)
Would you be willing to share what that WiFi card is and where you got it from? (I have same device and I’m interested in getting another year from it)
I used beddit (https://www.beddit.com/) a lot, but since they were bought by apple there is not really any updates for app or hardware. It works like withings sleep where you don‘t wear anything, but it needs Bluetooth connection to your phone the whole night because it doesn’t have any storage.
So I am not really statisfied with it. The app runs on the phone the whole night and drains the battery, no smarthome features are built in and there is always bluetooth sending data.
Very nice demo but it seems that the gyroscope data from my phone is interpreted wrong. When I hold my phone with a left tilt the fluid flows to the right. Using iPhone XS with iOS 12.1.3
What are the minimum hardware specifications for reading the ip data? Would it for example work with an raspberry Pi or is the arm cpu and the 100 mbit network adapter to slow?
