i mean, it was purposefully acquiring money that didn't exactly belong to me. the Right Thing To Do would have been to report the error and get it corrected, instead of leaving it open for exploit, like when my friends or I needed quarters for laundry.
The "post-PC era" is greatly exaggerated. It may eventually happen but only for those kinds of consumers who would have never bothered with LEGO anyways.
For hackers, the PC (or Mac) isn't going anywhere.
In other words, if everyone uses the iPad, who creates iPads and all the apps?
Elaborate on what? It's perfectly possible to live a happy life without putting an ounce of effort into actively networking. You meet people through happenstance without ever thinking "how can I use this person". We don't all look at other people as means to an end.
I don't recommend people because I hope they'll recommend me back or because I'm thinking about building a social structure; I do it if and when it'd help the person I'm recommending them to if and when it'd be natural to do so.
Watching you guys talk about building the social structure and networking reminds me of watching a psychopath try to fit in with normal people and learn when it's appropriate to smile or fake emotion. You're talking about actively learning to manipulate people to your advantage, I just don't find that cool, even if it is to everyone's advantage.
I too think its a terrible idea but,
What a stupid question. (how much does Amazon cost with Prime?) I hope you realize that if you cannot figure out an answer to that questions in like 10 seconds yourself, you probably shouldn't be commenting things like companies pivoting.
(And an equally stupid answer. Prime is $79/year if you are not a (mom or a dad or a student))
Once its transferred, its transferred. There is no "return policy" equivalent because its tied to an employer and your past employer wont necessarily keep the position open just in case you need to come back.
I think you are under the impression that they're talking about the actual H1B transfer failing, but in reality they're talking about the actual new startup company failing. If the startup does fail and the H1B isn't transferred elsewhere again, they do lose the visa.
Its a risk one must take but you don't just wake up one morning and 'fail' ... you see it coming, and you should be able to line up interviews and at least make an attempt at getting a gig before that happens .... thats what I'd do, but that's just me.
Failed parent. Since kids can only be as wonderful as you (parent) mold and let them to be. (at least in the early years)
