It'd be great to have a hacker news for things that are not hacker news. I refuse to go to reddit, though.

You left out "being a community of shills". That's really their favorite thing to do.

Yeah, I find the evil "distracting". Call me old fashioned.

Hey, it might give a writer idea for some 3rd rate villains for their book

Maybe outsourcing one's security needs is "dumb" when it comes to something like the internet since "trust" is hard won and quite expensive.

That is a law enforcement warrant matter--not a cloudflare policing matter.

Looks like CloudFlare decided it was a PR matter, and decided they'd rather not do business with them. Oh well!

You’re deflecting and at the same time declaring yourself on the side of KiwiFarms. Fair enough, but I don’t think you realise how laws around discrimination work in the USA, you may want to look that up (hint just put “protected class” into Google, that’ll get ya started)

I understand law enforcement which is not on the side of anyone inherently other than ideally justice. You, apparently, are not. I suggest you look up "due process" to get a jump start on some crucial points.

This is correct. All of this is just a law enforcement problem.

N-no bro! Please fetishize my universal axioms! PLEASE!

It’s a basic matter of human decency. They’re hurting people every day. Cut off their fucking access. There is no business or humane reason Cloudflare _should_ be a morally neutral arbiter; it’s a weird fetish of their CEO.

People hurt people. That's why there are police and a judicial system with checks and balances--not a kangaroo court of internet service providers.

Why do you hate marsupials

Someone just posted up a pull quote the other day on Hacker News about how Cloudflare doesn't bend to cancel culture, and I remarked that they all ready had more than once. Now the big reveal is they ARE Cancel Culture, but they have no idea they are!

Yep. I don't know that momentum is sustaining them so much as it is denial.

The cloud is all ready a security nightmare. I don't want to put more stuff in it.

Wasn't this posted to Hacker News before?

I only could find this from another URL: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32542953 (2 points | 12 days ago | 0 comments)

Note that from the FAQ:

> Are reposts ok? If a story has not had significant attention in the last year or so, a small number of reposts is ok. Otherwise we bury reposts as duplicates.

I sometimes link old post with low points or few comments when one of the comments is very interesting and explain or debunk the post. But in this case there is nothing interesting in the old discussion. (Is the other URL better? Both look similar to me.)

The problem with cloudflare is that they ALL READY bowed to cancel culture...
