NOTE to developers: This is why you shouldn't accept PayPal!

Note to everyone: This is why you shouldn't accept PayPal.

The only people PayPal benefits is consumers and scammers.

Mostly just scammers, though.

Or why you should get your money out of there as quickly as humanly possible. I never leave more than ~25 bucks on there.

It doesn't matter how much money you leave in there. Do you have a CC on file or bank account, they might charge it, and even if you don't have paypal might not allow you to do any more business using their platform until all is cleared and you paid if the charge-back goes through in the client's favor.

No, you just shouldn't accept paypal. As k3oni states, it doesn't matter how much money you have in your paypal account. When a chargeback happens paypal will take whatever small amount of money you do have in there, and your account will go negative for the remaining balance... and then the bill collectors start calling.

Now includes free, automatic syncing with the NSA Key Provisioning Service!

The developer must have hired a great P.R. company because yesterday our local TV news was covering it. Now it's on HN!?!

Read the FAQ and you'll get an idea of the brains (or lack thereof) behind this app: http://ignorenomoreapp.com/faq

"Q: My child ignored my instructions and selected “OK” to the pop-up request to “Disable Device Admin”. How do I restore Ignore No More on their phone?"

"A: I know, I know let me guess the child said, “It was an accident”. First you need to check to see if Ignore No More is still on their phone. If it is then that’s great news. All you have to do is select the device’s Settings icon>Security>Device (or Phone) Administrators where you will then see an empty box beside of Ignore No More Device Admin. Select the empty box; a pop-up will appear, select “Activate”. Ignore No More is now restored on the child’s phone. On the other hand, if the child deleted the app entirely from their phone you will need to download again from the app store."

It's very interesting that TAO attempted to remotely compromise a core router. What happened to diverting Cisco boxes to an "undisclosed location" for installing implants?

Nobody was ordering replacement routers in the area that they wanted? At least not until their old one magically bricked itself...

It's illegal for US corporations to do deals directly with several governments. Syria most likely bought the gear used through gray/black market channels.

Where can I get me one of those sweet sweet black market routers?

Most people can tell the difference between a leaky pipe and one that is properly plumbed. However, most people cannot tell the difference between well-designed software and shit.

Also, they can take their time choosing a software architect. But if they take their time choosing a plumber, their house fills with shit.

But I could sell you a VCR. I might even let you store it at my house since I have better reception than you. Wait, that would be illegal...

Nope, it wouldn't be. It's the reselling en masse that they have a problem with.

Right, how does all this impact the I-DVR that I rent to my "friend" for $10 in BTC each month, to defray the cost of my internet bill?

It would be interesting to see a decentralized Aereo make another go at this.

It's actually illegal to sell a VCR that does not honor the do-not-copy transmitted signal. The courts and legislature generally sanction the activity, not the tool.

Here are some ideas:

-QUANTUMINSERT -> SS7

-CANDYMAN -> GOPHERSET

-WAP push

-Vuln. via specially-crafted SMS/MMS

-APN update

Two things to point out here...

1. Rumors and innuendo are not the same as hard evidence. While some politicians may survive a controversy, in most cases reputation-damaging information has a negative effect on a political career (especially if it's indisputable evidence). "Nobody wants a scandal". Furthermore, what an old enemy might leak to the press is a far cry from what might be uncovered through comprehensive digital surveillance. Having access to raw, captured Internet traffic is a game-changer.

2. If the members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence don't feel that they are getting completely accurate and inclusive information from the NSA, why wouldn't they feel vulnerable? Who could know the truth if the NSA doesn't give straight information to the very people who are supposed to be overseeing their work?

What about the "evaporation ponds" & (often missing) liners?

What about methane contamination to drinking water wells?

I don't know about the first, but the methane contamination is pure FUD. Those claims in gasland have been debunked:

I'm extremely skeptical of your source...

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Energy_in_Depth

Did you actually read it? I linked to it specifically because of the methane claim. I found it linked to by the NY Times. The PDF quotes county officials who found no link between the methane and fracking. The methane was determined to be organic. People have claimed that methane was reported in the water decades before fracking started.

Thank you for the link! :)
