Apex Dental Partners | Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer | $120 - $140k DOE | Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (Work from Home mostly, should be able to come to office occasionally) | Full Time
Apex is a fast-growing Dental Support Organization (DSO). We support dental practices by providing IT, business, and clinical support -- basically we let Dentists do what they love, and we take care of the rest. On the INC 5000 fastest-growing companies list multiple years running, we are expanding quickly and looking for smart, engaged developers to help us serve those who serve our patients.
To help run our business, we operate an in-house Ruby on Rails (6.0) application to aggregate data, manage reporting, payroll, and lots of other internal functions. Our tech stack and infrastructure setup is probably not what you're used to seeing, and we have lots of room to do interesting and high-impact work in an industry that can greatly benefit from modern software solutions.
Day-to-day remote work is no problem at all, but we strongly prefer someone in or near Dallas/Ft Worth (DFW) Texas so that we can have in-office collaboration and planning meetings when needed.
Apex Dental Partners | Ruby on Rails Developer | Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (USA) | Remote from office is fine, but needs to be driving distance to DFW | Full-time
At Apex, we're revolutionizing dentistry. We’re committed to providing patients and dentists with the best experience possible, through our Private Practice Reimagined® model that focuses on long-term patient relationships and high-quality care. Simply put, we let our dentists be dentists, and we help make them more efficient by operating the non-clinical parts of the business.
As a fast-growing organization, we face exciting new challenges every single day. The most successful members of our team love problem-solving, are eager to get their hands dirty, and love learning new things. Our patient-centric culture is built around the values of service, integrity and excellence. We preach and practice servant leadership and ask every person in our organization to take on a leadership and ownership mentality.
A huge part of our business operations runs on a Ruby (2.7) on Rails (6.0) web application. We are hiring someone to help build reliable, well-tested features and improve what's already there.
We want someone comfortable working remotely on a small team, although we do want a candidate who is within easy driving distance of the DFW area (Addison) to be able to do in-person meetings and other collaborative sessions.
Experience with AWS, Docker, Vue.js, and Terraform would be great, but not strictly necessary.
If you're interested, or want to learn more, please email me at dhanson (at) apexdp.com.
Weathermatic builds connected commercial irrigation systems (industrial IoT) that are managed via a web application. Most of our web app is written in Ruby/Rails, and some is being migrated to Elixir/Phoenix/LiveView. Our backend involves a lot of Golang running in AWS Lambdas.
Looking for someone to help join our very small team to help ramp up feature development and migration of key portions of our app from Rails to Phoenix LiveView.
We have an office in the DFW area, Texas, and prefer someone in driving distance, but could consider farther away for the right candidate. Needs to be based in the US.
Weathermatic (http://www.weathermatic.com) | Full Stack Software Developer | Full-time | Dallas Area (DFW) Texas | Must be in DFW but mostly work remote/at home
We build cellular-connected commercial irrigation solutions. Our smart controllers connect via a cellular aircard to provide a web- and app-based control/monitoring platform for irrigators and property managers (http://www.smartlinknetwork.com). This saves everyone involved time, money, and water. Through our "Save Water | Give Life" initiative, we dedicate a portion of our proceeds to clean water initiatives, building drinking water wells in developing countries (https://www.weathermatic.com/our-cause/).
Our office is in Garland, TX, but our software team works remotely most of the time, just meeting at the office for planning meetings, etc.
We run a core web application in Ruby on Rails, with the field-communication parts written in Go. The system can also be accessed via our React Native based mobile application. Deployed using Docker via AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, and other associated services.
We are a small team looking for someone who can contribute at all levels of the project, even including firmware and test fixture design if that's interesting to you! Lots of opportunity to make a difference and work with a variety of interesting technologies.
