This was long time ago. It does compartmentalize the browsing info but the history is still accessible with other containers. For example, a Shopping container should have its own history. (https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/issues/4...)
If I wanted to completely separate things like this I would use multiple different profiles. The advantage of the extension is that your history, settings, etc remains constant across the containers.
Profiles are unfortunately much more cumbersome to use than in Chrome.
The UX that container tabs have - being able to use them in the same Windows as other tabs, with accessible open-in options from the tab bar and from various context menus; creating new containers as easily as specifying a name and no more - is the UX that I wish Firefox had for their profiles.

Square is a payment processor, and does not wear the merchant hat. Even if it sells the data, the merchants acquiring the data still needs to pay, bumping up the cost of business.
On the other hand, Amazon is _both_ payment processor and merchant. First it gets transaction fees (due to its volume, I guess it is paying around 1-2% for card transactions) from merchants, not a lot, but I doubt it really cares or plans to earn money from transactions. Second it gets sales analytics, and third, it can adjust its online strategies to match the trends it sees in this data. I would say #2 and #3 would be the whole point of launching this.
Square is not the biggest competition to retailers anywhere, and Amazon has a history of using the sales data of their "partners" (on Amazon.com) to compete with them.
Quick question : Are there any reasons that you opted for a sign-in access instead of an offline access? I prefer offline as I can configure on my machine and sync with the built-in browser sync. If I need to access these bookmarks permanently, I can use
