None of the billionaires care about the challenges of these technologies to the American worker. One of them laid off 30,000 workers yesterday, and the rest have laid off hundreds of thousands more directly (in their words) BECAUSE of AI / emerging technologies.
I see this a lot in research as well, unfortunately including myself. I do miss college where I would hand write a few thousand lines of code in a month, but i’m just so much more productive now.
