I am not concerned about being a meat proxy (fine).I worry about the possible "unfounded oracle." A model that although constrained by humans, (like delphi) acts without any human criticism. Like multivac from Isaac Asimov's short story:
I have experienced a similar feeling. Often I will dream of the newly "mapped" area once I arrive home (with cartoonish/dreamlike elements that are far from perfect). After I awake from this dream I feel likewise refreshed.
K.A. has always helped me immensely. Often I will add a video as a 2nd "I do" before our "we do." If there is extra time after small groups we typically answer the math unit questions as a class. Students are thrilled to come up in front of the class to defend thier reasoning before finally seeing if thier choice was correct.
I agree partially with your first point and almost entirely with your 2nd point:
After emerging from an ap/ib honors program in highschool (with excellent teachers) I became increasingly stressed in college when any real simple lack of comprehension occurred. I was smort. I should "get it."
However, later in life the ideas from books or concepts we read, discussed, and critiqued (Doestevsky,Shakespeare, sophocles etc) allowed me access to ideas in the humanities that far outweighed that initial college whiplash.
So it's a trade off I would certainly make again.
