I am hunting for the source code of VR-1 Crossroads
It was a mud style game in beta that ended up getting axed in the early 2000s (?) but it was brilliant and a few of us stuck around in it long after we should have.
If anyone has heard anything about it, let me know!
I think generate-apps-on-demand is a natural evolution of our interactions with technology and data. I am hesitant to celebrate it though. It can be useful for sure, but my gut tells me:
1. This is getting over engineered for the needs of the users
2. Conversations are more arduous then keywords and commands
3. Most people don't want customization because customization comes with the responsibility of decisions.
I tell it to accomplish only half of what it thinks it can, then conclude with a haiku. That seems to help, because 1) I feel like it starts shedding discipline as it starts feeling token pressure, and 2) I feel like it is more likely to complete task n - 1 than it is to complete task n. I have no idea if this is actually true or not, or if I'm hallucinating... all I can say is that this is the impression I get.
I would love that as an option in general. Yes it can be abused but that can be said for literally everything. The ability to actually have local networks as an option would be a blessing though.
