“Behind the complaints: Our investigation into the suspicious pressure on Archive.today”

“Ooh look, a girl on the sc list. Let’s rape her”

I assume if this was brought to his attention today, he would denounce anything said. People mature. Boy, if League of Legends chat logs from 2012 ever got out...

2026 will certainly be the year of the 'I'm switching to Linux' thinkpieces

The iPod Sock was 2004. Fashion has always loved the 20 Year Cycle!

That was released as a joke. Twenty years later and no longer released as a joke, Apple is showing they are still in touch with the sensibilities of the modern Apple customer.

It's difficult not to be somewhat impressed by Apples ability to build a luxury brand with such loyal customers.

My technical brain say "who would want that" but my business brain says "maybe I should buy more AAPL"

Reality has progressed, you can't distinguish it from satire any more.

Who else remembers the term ‘mystery meat navigation’?

“This is not a very important machine, and I could have just reimaged the MicroSD card and be done with it, but I was curious if I could recover from the error.”

How many deep insights can you really gain on an entire industry by working in it for 2 years? And starting off in a separate industry which just happens to be located within the other?

I agree that bluntness is often mishandled, but the sort of language in this article just reads as wildly disingenuous. Obfuscating your actual point (and visceral, human feelings/opinions/experience!) to hopefully confuse your subject into compliance. Makes me think of that brain-dead article a few years back about how you should dodge offering support in close personal relationships. “I don’t have capacity,” “I’m not paid to perform emotional labour” etc. Sad! Promote humanity!

I don’t disagree with everything he’s saying but it’s odd seeing the responses this is getting when it sounds extremely rehearsed.

Rehearsed word soup. He clearly knows zero about the underlying technology. If he did understand it in any depth, he'd show a lot less certainty about the future.

I think it’s fair to comment on the audio. Great interview but I found it really difficult to follow along due to the sound quality. To the host with the big Shure mic in the middle of their shot: point it at your mouth!
