* Product folks over-promise

* Engineers are consulted for estimates to facilitate long-term planning

* Middle management slashes those estimates in half due to pathological myopia

* Executives enforce musical chairs to assert their authority

* Consultants muck everything up while collecting enormous payouts

And yet the business cycle keeps cycling.

They spent billions of dollars on compute costs and they need to pump the PKIs to justify it. That is the only explanation.

It is the same reason every app (be they web or mobile) gets a redesign every year.

That's gotta be it.

At Ignite yesterday they announced that Security Copilot will now be included for free with E5 licensing.

The tool that until yesterday way $50k for a single tenant deployment. Aka, no one bought it, but they need to juice the KPIs so might as well make it free so it looks like someone is actually using it.

Not all progress is good progress, not all cultures are good cultures, and some cultures are worth protecting.

Why in the world do you think you are in a position to decide what is good?

There are valid criticisms of multiculturalism and there are valid merits to Trump winning the elections.

The totalitarian mindset will not even tolerate you “platforming” people who don’t sufficiently agree with it (even if you agree on 90% of things).

That $250M is (societally) better off going to him than being spent on whatever the hell Meta was going to otherwise spend it on.

Truly, the essence of the Democratic Party and its most important constituents is (checks notes) monarchies, dictators, international conglomerates, and etc(?).

Trump 2.0's policies have been a bizarre crisscross of strong-arming of titans of industry (traditional far-left), dismantling of the federal government with reckless abandon (libertarian), and obscene military spending (traditional far-right.)

What is the grand strategy here? Creative destruction?

Making the government small enough to drown in the bathtub? (Grover Norquist's goal)

Big military, big ICE and strong arming universities are not "small government" policies.

These are the pieces controlled solely by the executive branch. The goal is total unequivocal control, not anarchy.

Any communication that I did not opt-in for.

Absence of obsession with identity politics is not the same as wanting you dead. I don't want my tax dollars funding your personal lifestyle choices, just as you wouldn't want yours funding mine.
