Why do you think Tesla is more parasitic than tapeworm? Didn't it start EV revolution? Or are you projecting your hatred of Elon on Tesla ?

> Backups are cp production.sqlite3 backup.sqlite3

I use gobackup[0] as another container in compose.yml file which can backup to multiple locations.

Does cp actually work on live sqlite files? I wouldn’t expect it to, since cp does not create a crash-consistent snapshot.

cp "works" but it has a very strong possibility of creating a corrupt copy (the more active the db, the higher the chance of corruption). Anyone using "cp" for that purpose does not have a reliable backup.

sqlite3_rsync and SQLite's "vacuum into" exist to safely create backups of live databases.

Maybe if the system is idle

Any recommendations ?

I'm just stating out on this, so I haven't gotten through everything I want to read yet.

Right now I'm reading Financial Intelligence by Karen Berman and and Joe Knight. There's different versions, but I choose the one "for managers". So far it's done a good job making the material understandable for someone who doesn't have a degree in finance. This the one that's more relevant to the post and will help you start understanding how companies operate at a financial level.

For personal finance I have read

I Will Teach You To Be Rich by Ramit Sethi and A Random Walk Down Wallstreet by Burton G. Malkiel. The first sounds "click-batey" but that's because "I will teach you the boring effective way to manage you're finances" doesn't sell. The latter gets more into the weeds on investing. Bother are great (though Random Walk has been edited many times and the beginning of the book has become bloated, so I'd recommend skimming it a bit since it's just history on epic financial crashes).

I'm planning to read:

7 Powers — Hamilton Helmer

Good Strategy/Bad Strategy — Richard Rumelt

The Outsiders — William N. Thorndike Jr.

The Intelligent Investor — Benjamin Graham

The Psychology of Money — Morgan Housel

Thank you.

Not an American but. There is no fucking way Trump will acknowledge that.

> indian right politics + bollywood. i got banned from one sub for an innocent comment

You were banned from a Indian re subreddit or banned because being rw ?

FYI: I was banned from r/india for commenting basic info on how economy works.

I do not recall, it is long time back, I looked and could not find the ban notice or the specific comment that may have been the issue. But I was banned from /india - same as you. And I think it was barely political. I do not discuss politics much on India but once in a while a comment slips, or needs to slip. And when it needs to slip, I used to know how to lean ... but like the dirty harry movie ... at this point I have forgotten which one is which, so it is more a question of am I feeling lucky to comment about a hot topic.

Or as the British would say "9 innit ?"

For today or for this month.

The value of persistence!

It's not
