Yes, we've also been solving existing problems using a similar approach. However, AlarmKit solves several issues that were previously impossible, such as displaying full-screen alarm interfaces rather than just push notifications.


I hope it is reliable. The main reason I came back to iPhone from Android was that the 3 Android phones I bought from different manufacturers all had time and clock and time-zone related issues that made them unreliable, especially when traveling.

The iPhone has been rock solid with Alarms. Hopefully AlarmKit is also rock solid, but my first-hand experience with new Apple "Kits" has been very poor.


But that does not bypass silent mode. Critical alert does.
