In this particular case, we're referencing Shannon Entropy. We've got a few other items that also look at bigrams on a per-language basis. As you can imagine, this changes depending on the language used for the given software package.


It's the name of a city just north of Houston.


Texas seems to have very silly names for places.

Yep, The three others I know of are Center, Texas, which is not in fact in the center of Texas; Earth, Texas, which I suppose is in fact on the Earth; and Texas City, Texas, which is indeed a city in Texas.



If I had to guess, they're likely referring to the lack of side-effects in some functional languages. This makes it a bit easier to formally verify the correctness.


What's funny is that some of these languages lack types, which makes it a whole lot harder to secure.

So it's not just about being functional.
