Elastalert + Kibana + Slack is great if you use logstash/streamstash to aggregate logs internally. I also combine new relic and slack for incident management.
Never heard of Elastalert, I'll have to check that out. By the name I'm guessing it's triggers off an elasticsearch server, which would cover infrastructure I already have - so that's nice.
I carry a boreas bolinas around most days. It works. It's a bit overbuilt for going to and from the office but super comfy when I have to walk across town with a laptop.
Very neat, I used to use django + docker in production myself but we handled deployments via circleci. Essentially the build version would be published into consul and circle ci would handle the generation of a new build version from git. The only crappy part was docker tooling breaking our builds every other week. We relied on some homebuilt code that handled publishes to the docker registry and updating our consul cluster. That being said we never included the database in our deployment strategy and relied on it up and working 24/7. Also consul was a constant pain in the ass.
for those wondering what the actual differences were. Frankly it was a good move on the cities part. As a citizen I'm not sure. I relied on uber to get me around when I was feeling lazy. That being said I don't think running background checks through FBI and in-person face to face interviews for drivers are too much to ask. When the companies posed this false dichotomy it turned me off completely. Quite literally threatening the population with disastrous consequences and questionable statistics didn't sit well with me. Neither did the constant barrage of flyers hawking aforementioned stats.
