NW.js will continue to support running Chrome Apps: https://nwjs.io/blog/chrome-apps-support/

Thanks Roger, I love nwjs (still prefer it over electron), thank you for your work!

This is available before the security issue is expected to be made public in 14 weeks window & exactly why you need to keep whatever Chromium engine in your application up-to-date.

The upcoming NW.js v0.23.0 beta version will support this usage: https://dl.nwjs.io/live-build/04-29-2017/nw23-3bd4af6-4d7f95...

NW.js v0.23 will support headless with Chromium 59. I've been collecting feature requests and sharing the plan. Please see https://github.com/nwjs/nw.js/issues/769#issuecomment-259867... and https://github.com/nwjs/nw.js/issues/769#issuecomment-294064...

In NW.js you can use Node.js in Web Worker: https://nwjs.io/blog/v0.18.4/ . HTH.

why is it available in NW.js but not Node?

I think Node community is working on it. In NW the implementation of webworker from browser can be leveraged.

NW.js supports running Chrome Apps directly: https://nwjs.io

We'll continue supporting it and Chrome App developers can redistribute their apps after packaging with NW.js

Available to use today with NW.js v0.16.0-beta1: http://nwjs.io/blog/v0.16.0-beta1/

NW.js v0.15.0 beta released with Node.js v6 : http://nwjs.io/blog/v0.15.0-beta1/
