It's interesting to note that Béhar has founder credit for Telo Trucks, he's not a one-shot contractor. I guess his designs studio is involved with the new version as well.
At that point, isn't adding a good old contact form a simpler solution? You can link it with your email address or other channels. It can even works with static websites, I hooked up mine with Nextcloud Forms.
I appreciate the hacker creativity at display here, but as other said obfuscating an email address raises accessibility issues. Hiding content from some programs and not others (spam bots vs assistive technologies) seems inherently a losing game, for you or for users.
IMHO, Github issues vs Discord is a false dilemma. Searching in Discord or searching through hundred of issues with months of comments are equally bad.
A place to report issues and a place to discuss have their use, but any project needs comprehensive documentation and a FAQ page. Yes, many won't read them. But also, many will.
Your comment opened my eyes on the matter a little bit.
As some others in this page, I loathe the act of writing, but it's also a negative feedback loop where I use disposable ballpoint pen. I remember I used to prefer foutain pen in high school.
Still, for my case I see two potential downsides with foutain pen:
- mobility (train trips and bike commuting). I remember instances of leaks.
- Infrequent use. I'll keep being a keyboard-first note-taker. :)
I guess I need to shop for shake-proof, non-drying pen and cartridges.
I have a Fisher Space Pen in my bag for when I really need to write something on the go. It's just that I wouldn't want to write a whole novel with it. By analogy, I think the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio is an excellent portable keyboard. When I'm out and about, it does the job. But when I sit down at my desk, I much prefer my full-size mechanical keyboard.
Interestingly, Matthew Butterick (of Practical Typography fame) is co-counsel on this. Programmer, lawyer and typesetting expert, damn.
