off-topic, but, please stop hosting websites behind cloudflare, just nginx is enough, cloudflare is cancer.

Have you ever hosted a website without Cloudflare?

In my case, the access logs alone from bots scanning for vulns grew so large that the server started creating.

Fortunately I wasn't running anything vulnerable!

Equating Cloudflare and NGINX seems a bit weird, they're entirely different tools with different purposes? Cloudflare has never done me any wrong as a web host or a web user. Calling it a cancer is very disingenuous.

That being sad, Yann LeCun's twitter reposts are below average IQ.

Do you have a recent example ?

Unfortunately for everyone, people like you tie their entire identity and income to specific technologies, movements, or communities—becoming deeply tribal in the process. When something or someone undermines their sense of security—even with constructive criticism—they react defensively, often to the point of ignorance.

All this, combined with the fact that Zig, at best is still in beta quality and at worst amounts to a massive waste of everyone’s time, makes it unsurprising that people block you and simply refuse to engage with your loud community efforts, endless churn and crust tied to beta quality compiler.

> Zig is not really a handmade project, case in point both Andrew and I are blocked on social media by the two gods of the handmade movement (casey and john) and, according to their die hard fans, Andrew gave a talk at the last handmade conference that caused the community to split apart (the reality is a bit more complex than this, but Andrew's talk is certainly one that you wouldn't see at their new "better software" conference).

> Andrew's talk is here (second event after the two people chatting while sitting on chairs): https://handmadecities.com/media/seattle-2024/hms-day-one/

> Here you can see a particularly funny (but also sad) reaction by one of these people https://drive.proton.me/urls/MB1EB4EF34#YZdvmAvBFp1C

Regarding the links you posted:

In the first, at 2:30:40, Andrew Kelly publicly calls out a specific author of a competing technology in exaggerated, caricatured, and fabricated context.

In the second video, yet another author of a yet another competing technology directly points out this unapologetic and concerning behavior on Andrew Kelly’s part.

And now you—“VP of Community @ Zig Software Foundation”—assert your “righteous” stance by sharing these videos, while ironically pointing out that some of those same individuals (of competing technologies fame) block you on social media.

Too bad that doing your job probably means being as loud and visible online as possible to spread the molecules of Zig no matter what.

observe how EU is brewing another global humanitarian crisis, war or just idiocracy.

Free market y all !

OpenAI calls DeepSeek 'state-controlled,' calls for bans

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43355779

It is the free market though. That's what inevitably happens when locks put in place in the past to prevent rampant wealth and power concentration get blown up. A truly free market always devolves into a bunch of oligarchs gaining too much power and dictating their laws.

Someone else posted here that instead of talking about "free markets" we should talk about "competitive markets".

no, story you mention is about internal USA matters, while this is about pulling levers of rule base world order, in attempt to keep world dominance and gain advantage in free market with anti-competitive practices.

Crazy government money printer at work, everything is subsidised. Observe insane inflation as byproduct. And Musk is ideal distraction in the form of benevolent visionary for multi-planetary dream, while in reality the only ones who pays for all this infrastructure in low earth orbit are pentagon with Starshield project behind the curtains that eats whole planet SIGINT with a motto similar to "nothing is beyond our reach"

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:NROL_39_vector_logo....

Gosh you delusional or brainwashed on "rule based world order", where "cooperating with local government" in your statement in reality means "while foreign government behaves like our vassals and country is our colony".

What this tool allows US state is to circumvent foreigns government sovereignty and ultimately, directly guide people through communication channels via psychological operations.

By inverse(contradiction), observe what happens with TikTok, Huawei or "Chinese ballons" within US borders.

> Also, the U.S. remains committed to a safe, secure and reliable nuclear deterrent, he said.

really deranged warmongers you have there in D.C., there are no escape, only https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutual_assured_destruction

The entire point of MAD is ensuring that no one ever kicks off a nuclear war. But I guess in internet logic, stopping a war from happening is "warmongering."

MAD doesn't have a point, MAD is a fact observed, not an actively sought state (it is, in fact, the result of opponents with sufficiently similar capacity each seeking unilateral overmatch capacity, and neither being willing to sacrifice its own total destruction capability while the other retains it.)

MAD also assumes a level of rationality that I am starting to doubt exists in many world leaders...

Nonsense. The concept of MAD had been discussed in the literature for nearly a century before the invention of nuclear weapons.

it is warmongering if country in question is the one who caused war in the first place.

Only warmongering blood thirsty chipmunks can argue for what you are arguing here.

You don't seem to understand the Ukrainian perspective here.

So pretty straight from one Captain I know: in 1991 the Budapest agreement had Ukraine relinquish its nukes in exchange for security guarantees from both Russia and the US, amongst others. Clearly these guarantees were lies so let's grab some plutonium from the plants we got, and make imprecisely-yielding trucks to save our motherland. This is the escalation we want to avoid, chipmunk Putin and his mafia have a lot more to lose with their decades of graft, I fear cornered Uk generals with enough bullet-in-the-head short-term POW sons and Bucha-burn-after-use daughters to their name may have much less to hesitate for.

In 1991 the Budapest agreement had Ukraine relinquish its nukes in exchange for security guarantees from both Russia and the US, amongst others.

Actually the Budapest Memorandum (from 1994, not 1991) explicitly avoided any mention of security guarantees as such, which has been seen as one of its major shortcomings.

It asked that the signatories respect each others' borders, which was in itself significant. But this by itself does not amount to any kind of security guarantee.

no worries mate, our new President is a President of Peace, unlike our previous President that won a Nobel Peace Prize. “Defense” budget is about to be slashed by 95% and most military personnel will be honorably discharged. Like few weeks after the inauguration
