Depending on the markup, the second example in “myth 6” is flat out wrong as the author ignores one of the failure modes for color only - unless there is an accessible name on those success/failure dots, screen reader users are SOL.

One note: in demo 2, visibility: hidden will make screen readers ignore the headings.

Invited experts don’t pay any fees: https://www.w3.org/participate/invited-experts/

I mean, I get that. But if you're a business or even an individual who was an interest in how the internet is being shaped you have to either pay a ton of money or somehow get them to invite you.

WHATWG seems to have found a way to manage the noise of allowing essentially anyone in to comment and contribute.

For a while due to a bike trail closure, I pedaled across the Sellwood bridge. Because reasons, I took the south sidewalk and had a great view of oncoming eastbound drivers. I saw many drivers holding/operating their phones, by my limited data it was around 1 in 10. Terrifying.

There are accessibility issues beyond the landmark elements. For instance the close button on the drag and drop example has no accessible name.

Note the date on that. It’s my understanding that with modern browsers, except in pathological cases, selector performance is pretty much a non issue.

And here we are in 2018 on the cusp of what is looking to be a new nuclear arms race. It’s two minutes to midnight:

Just like in 1953. https://thebulletin.org/doomsday-clock/past-announcements/

Fear mongering at its best.

Am I the only one that wants to puke when I hear/read how hard it was for the exec team to decide to lay people off?

It seems like empathy 101 to me to not make the layoff of an employee about you, the one that made the decision to probably throw their life into chaos, but it seems to be almost ubiquitous in these announcements.
