I sweat a lot and as a result try to avoid cotton for the most part. Wool is just a far better material in my experience, and doesn’t hold odor like cotton.

Problem is most wools are "super wash" aka coated in plastic. Real wool is expensive and finicky, even when hand washed.

So you’re saying there’s an upside?

Maybe the entire purpose of OpenAI was to suck all the inflation the US government created on the last decade and burn it out in a huge bonfire at the end of its life.

Sam Altman has been playing 6-D chess this entire time, and we thought he was just a fraudster.

In a universe where all AI investment goes to zero, wouldn’t you have the opposite effect? You can torch wealth but not the money supply, which ultimately _increases_ inflation, not decreases it.

There is only a short term inflation decrease while we produce what people mistakingly think is wealth. That can evaporate, but the money supply won’t.

It's confusing, but bankruptcy destroys mainly money, and only has second order effects on wealth.

What makes it hard to understand is that the Oracle going bankrupt on their debit because OpenAI took all their money is what would destroy the money. AFAIK, OpenAI itself doesn't have a lot of debit to burn. It would burn money that is currently on the hands of Oracle's creditors.

And bankruptcy is a bit of an extreme example, but just people thinking Oracle is less credit-worthy would destroy some money already. Repeat that for every company that invested in OpenAI.

This has seriously crossed my mind as well. Like we've reached an endgame here where big tech has now found a way to literally burn off trillions of dollars into waste heat.

>fraudster excuse me sweaty, AGI is actually around the corner

Agreed. I’m increasingly using the presence of AI slop as a primary signal about whether to avoid a company and its products.

Youtube is intentionally blunting this signal by making many videos look slightly slop-y, I mean "enhancing low-res content with AI upscaling"

Which suggests the next human dirty trick will be to put out AI slop 'supporting' a company and its products just to make 'em deny it was them making it :)

VFR (visual) flights don’t require filing a flight plan.

Anthropic are trailblazers and this will be everywhere soon. It happened to me tonight with a different company. "We use AI to do our actual work, but please don't use AI for this coding challenge."

Maybe LLMs just make messes.

Just wanted to say that I remember playing your game as a kid on the family Mac IIci. Thanks for the fun memories, and best wishes.

Same, I just use my Passport Card when flying, which is a Real ID.

Most of the people I see buying Land Rovers probably need a side gig to afford them.

Same. Lack of RDS support is the only reason we aren’t using this.

PostgreSQL Anonymizer developer here : this was possible with version 0.8 which is now completely unmaintained. This extension is currently not available on RDS but it is available on many others DBaaS providers : Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, Crunchy Bridge, ....

Just to jump in here -> We support RDS + more and you can self-host, Neosync.

I tried to figure out how/if this does what I need and your README had no examples. I clicked a couple of level deep, found no obvious demonstrations and left.

I checked the homepage but I do not watch Loom-style demos personally, definitely not 5 minute ones, and so I left.

When I click on OP's link, or just search for it on Google, it takes less than a full page for the extension to show me an extremely straightforward demonstration of its value. You should have something like that.

A simple example of what queries will look like, what setup will look like, all concisely communicated, no 5 minute lectures involved.
