Price you can’t win the gaming market with 2000+$ product

Have you seen GPU prices lately? Desktop 3070 level performance in portable laptop for 3500$ is not that bad of a deal. If they make Mac Mini around 2500$ it would be pretty competitive in PC space.

Gaming market spends the most of any home electronics user except ultra rich mansion hi-fi outfitters. Entry gaming laptops are $1300, entry GPUs are $400 if you can find them.

Not competing against consoles, but against big rig gaming PCs, and products from Asus and Razor, and companies like Nvidia/Amd in compute.

Godt nytår

Please if you do comparisons, it should be done against comparable countries like, Denmark and Norway. If you compare it against Spain and Italy, whose countries have a far worse health system, distrust of authorities and are much more vulnerable against economic downturns.

the fact is Sweden is still doing far worse than Norway and Denmark

Minor nitpick, I agree on the other points but Spain objectively does not have a "far worse" Healthcare system than Sweden in 2020. You might need to revise your assumptions.

Looking at the data available up to 2015, Denmark already had a worse HAQ index than Spain in 2015, and Spain had a negligible difference compared to Sweden [0].

Spanish longevity has kept increasing and competing with Japan [1], beyond 'mediterranean diet' effects, which again many attribute to Healthcare quality.

Good thing the data isn't comparing Sweden to Spain and Italy, but Sweden 2020 to 2010-2019.

Also, I think there are a lot of problems when conducting comparisons between countries, and it is best to be avoided unless conducted in a extremely rigours way. There are absolutely ways ways in which Sweden is more like Spain or Italy than Denmark or Norway, and it take a through analysis to even attempt a comparison.

Spain has a better health system than both Denmark and Norway.

But wait, everyone is blaming people in Europe and the US for feeding the virus and not behaving properly, comparing them with countries like Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand. So when is it ok to compare random countries with different climates, different political systems, different population structure and health infrastructure, only when it suits us?

What about compared to itself lol

Good for them intel processors hasn’t changed last 2 years

How change would it require to run on MacOS?

It would require Apple it care about VR and gaming and VR capable GPUs. Except for a MacPro, no Apple devices are powerful enough for VR. Even the top end MacBookPro at $19000 still has an underpowered GPU below the lowest VR specs.

That top end MBP has four thunderbolt 3 ports; have you tried any of the egpu setups? (I haven't, but I've been thinking about it for my 5th gen x1 carbon with thunderbolt 3)

The highest possible price for a MacBook Pro is US $6099. How do you get $19000? The iMac Pro can get to $14,299.

Sorry, bad memory. Still that's beside the point. The point is Apple so far is neither game nor VR friendly. I hope they change that stance. I'd prefer to be on Mac 100% of the time but I have a Windows machine as well because that's basically where all VR is happening.

Major hurdle would be porting Wayland/wlroots to MacOS I think.
