I just cancelled my ChatGPT subscription that I had since 2023. OpenAI offered me an extra month free, to keep my subscription.

Difference from Anthropic's deal is:

- OpenAI is ok with use of their AI for autonomous weapons, as long as there is "human responsibility"

- Anthropic is not ok with use of their AI for autonomous weapons

I think you guys are giving far too much attention to the "autonomous weapons" angle and not enough to the "spying on Americans" angle. It makes no sense to use an LLM to power an autonomous weapon. It does make a lot of sense to use an LLM to monitor communications and public social media profiles to create a list of "domestic terrorists" that they can then target. I'm willing to bet this is what the administration wanted to use Anthropic for.

Sure, and actually the open models are already good enough to do that, it's not like any company could stop any organization that can collect the data from doing this.

They can just improve on it a lot.

World model is a 3d game engine, which uses neural net to compute screen pixels instead of rasterizing triangles with textures or ray-tracing.

It is different from video generators, because it also accepts control inputs (ie. keyboard, mouse).

I think a robot would want to know a little more about the world though? For instance, picking up a spatula requires less force than picking up a an anvil. So you would want to know about the mass of things.

That is exactly example that parent posted about. Not every fb user is addicted to it, and has used it for long time.

They weren't new. They were oldish and had lots of posts, but no real "engagement" from others. No significant comments, and a noticeable pattern in their photos, etc etc. I could go on, but not that interesting.
