I'm quite sure dang was referring to the way the word 'minorities' was used, not the use of the word itself.

Remember the comment was "I find that minorities harass women in the street more than other races".

Given how broad the terms "minorities" and "other races" are, it's an utterly meaningless statement that serves only to inflame.

If you search the comments you'll find plenty of civil uses of the word "minorities", with no objection from the mods.
