That that is what a properly designed wifi network does - doesn't even seem to mention that its using wireless as the DS (distribution system)
It reads like marketing nonsense because it is a marketing page.
Secondly the standard doesn't require using wireless as the backhaul. It can use wireless, Ethernet, powerline, MOCA or a combination of them as the backhaul for the mesh.
