He says that git is used a lot by googlers and he's using github for his project, it would be nice then to integrate git on code.google.com

It really would, but last I heard they'd decided on (and implemented) hg as their DVCS on the serverside. Fortunately, "clientside" git integrates with more serverside VCSes than any other system I'm aware of :)

I was under the impression that they were still using Perforce or has that changed?

Nearly everything internal is still Perforce. The Android group (and maybe bits of Chrome? not sure) is nearly the only user of git.

Chromium uses svn, ChromiumOS uses git.

Ah, I was referring to their public hosting. durin42 seems to have better information on their internal stuff.

right hand meet left hand.

Except .. why would anyone use code.google.com instead of github?

At IO 2009 there was a talk about integrating Mercurial into code.google.com project hosting. As I recall it was referred to as the "first" DVCS to be integrated because its requirements lined up nicely with Google's existing infrastructure. It was implied that other DVCS's would be considered for integration in the future.
