This is the result of MANY deliberate design decisions where management have decided they should weaponize dark patterns against customers because if they are about to leave anyways, well surely it doesn't really matter how they are treated?
It's not like departing customers will tell their friends about the shitty offboarding experience they had, right? No one would blog about how horrible it is to cancel their Dropbox subscription, thereby persuading future customers from trying out Dropbox, right?
At least they don't require a phone call like The New York Times.
