This article is filled with cult of personality and baseless claims.

What are the baseless claims?

Are there any references here? As far as I can tell, this article is primarily based upon the testimony of Jim Cantrell, who doesn’t seem to be the most reliable person for these things and is well within Musk’s cult of influence.

Other sources are from Musk himself, also known to lie for self gain.

Maybe gross exaggeration would have been a better term?

This is going to get him banned from India soon if the next Kashmir conflict kicks off. Not the wisest move to intervene in international affairs as a private citizen for cheap PR points.

I’ll get back on the Elon bandwagon when he apologizes for the “pedo guy” thing.

Making baseless accusations when you’re angry and hurt makes you a tyrant (yes I know he was just trying to help and he felt embarrassed to have showed up utterly unprepared for the situation on the ground). The fact remains, randomly and cavalierly making accusations of child sex abuse is damaging to all survivors of sex abuse. Every false accusation makes it harder for a child to report real abuse. And refusing to acknowledge he was wrong means he can never do better because “doing better” requires that you try. You can’t try to do better if you can’t admit you were wrong. Maybe We shouldn’t be putting humanity’s future in the hands of a petty tyrant who can’t admit when he’s wrong and baselessly accuses people who speak out against him of terrible crimes.

Truth be told, were you ever an exuberant Elon fanboy? If not, your first line is not credible.

Nothing wrong with that of course, but I find most people who say "I'll support X when [rant against X]" was never in the pro-X camp anyway.

I don’t get why even people who know all the facts still make a big deal about that incident. People always assume that he was attacking an actual rescuer (they weren’t) for criticizing the sub (that wasn’t it), that musk did it for PR (he was requested to do so) and that the person attacked didn’t initiate the conflict in the first place (he did). Was Musk justified, no, was it a big deal, also no.

> was it a big deal, also no

Of course, since you weren't the actual target of his rant or his attempts to dig up dirt on that guy.
