Humans might just be the stupidest animals on the planet when it comes to seasonal migration, we get tied down by our monetary system, taxes, government policies, borders, etc., while polluting our planet with patchwork solutions like air conditioning for the summer or burning fossil fuels to heat our surroundings in the winter.

We can't simply just "move" to a different location like other animals.

Many older/retired Canadians migrate every winter; they're colloquially known as "snowbirds". Ontarians head to Florida, BCers head to Arizona.

That's the problem, you can only migrate once you've saved up to have a property elsewhere.

This is something that I have never thought of. Intriguing.

I think it's the opposite. We can move, but we have the intelligence to tame our environment so we don't have to.

> but we have the intelligence to tame our environment

I beg to differ when most wealthy and well-off Americans get affected by drought, fires, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, freak snow storms... and still stay in the same place all year round trying to tame their environment.

We cannot tame the environment, we just create mini environments.

Nature is amazingly powerful

Taming the environment is proving to be bad, isn't it?

It has pros and cons, but I think civilization is a massive pro that outweighs all the cons.

Maybe more remote work jobs could push us in that direction?
