Seeking quotes / proposals for a project (can be broken into phases, MVP, etc...) involving Team-based review of large sets of PDFs.
I don't use this particular program but maybe something like "Calibre with Annotation for Teams"?
Very interested in someone looking to experiment with local-first / File System Access API design - at least initially, let OneDrive/Dropbox handle team auth/permissions for folders/files and everyone can open the application pointed to their synced folders?
This also allows for the files to continue to be viewed/organized/reorganized inside or outside of the application like normal Windows File Explorer usage.
Strongly desire a "no lock-in" design. Everything (listings of files, annotations) should be easily exportable to JSON or readable-equivalent.
Not an established company, no existing product or designs, using this thread as a jumping off point for me (strongly motivated).
Feel free to reach out to me at wilcut.matthew at gmail.com. I'm Partner at a law firm, this is my 20% side project.
Not sure if you were one of the people who shot me an email or not, but I don't think pdfgrep captures the essence of the project. It's more annotations/note-taking/human labor review of pdfs than regex/search. Although that's not to say that OCR of the pdfs would not be involved - I'm a big fan of OCRmyPDF.
But this is also not intended to have any command-line interface. I can do it, but that's definitely not the audience I'm building for. Quite the opposite.
