Let’s not pretend that yellow journalism is a recent thing. It’s been around since before the automobile. The difference is that we have internet. So it’s easier to fact check, but it’s also easier for lies to spread more widely before being corrected.
Not only that, but the power of suggestion is corrupting by itself. “Is colejohnson66 working hard enough?” is sufficient to put a doubt in someone’s mind. I mean you probably do, but you have to defend yourself after such a uttering. Some media use this and it’s disgusting.
