So you want people who are working on something to release it in a way they don't want to, when there is a good chance it will bring the full might of (multiple) government regulations down on them?

They are doing the right thing for their industry. The world is barely ready for what is currently available.

They are probably doing the right thing for their own financial success. If they have access to the unreleased tech they could sell the resulting products, or rent access.

And maybe the things they haven't released don't work all that well to begin with.

I mean if you're that worried about not being able to create fake nudes, then start learning about it and make the changes yourself.
