Show HN: Macrometa – A CDN for databases, streaming, search, and APIs

Head of Product here, Macrometa is the first of its kind developer platform for building apps and APIs that run in multiple regions, cloud providers, and a worldwide network of Edge locations (175+). We call it the "Global Data Network" or GDN. The GDN puts your apps and APIs as close as possible to where the people who use your apps are, to mobile, desktop and devices that access your apps, and to events and things all around the world. We do this so that everything is real-time and instant - everything from the web service request that accesses an API, which may be served by a bunch of micro-services (containers and functions), that read or write data from and to databases, or publish/subscribe to events and messages (such as Kafka), perform complex queries and updates. We bring all of that complex backend machinery out of a single region or one cloud and put in lots of places around the world close to where the action is.

Many people compare our value to what a Content Delivery Network (CDN) does for the web - like the web needs a CDN to make it scale and be instantly usable anywhere in the world, today's cloud, mobile and web services need a GDN to make them scale and be instantly usable anywhere in the world by bringing things like databases, micro-services and more to the edge.
