I never use CarPlay in my EV. I don't like that it takes over the phone. All I need to do is send audio through bluetooth.

I think you can change a setting so it doesn’t take over your phone.

I have access to everything while connected to CarPlay.

That stat that 80% of people look for cars with car play first has got to be one of the most contrived statistics ever.

The real stat is almost certainly that ~80% of buyers want phone projection generically, meaning Android Auto or CarPlay, and Apple is just saying it means CarPlay because I cannot think of a single model that offers one but not the other
