Are those generational though? They seem much more regional and less to do with a particular general generation.


Maybe somewhat generational in that it's easier these days for an American to see more social media, television and movie content from the UK.


The overuse of “like” is extremely common in younger (say, sub-50) Americans across geographic locations.


That seems like a more organic evolution of language. It's across several generations and is not an intenional choice. It's also a bit far away from adopting an entire foreign accent.


Valley talk is generational it was at its peak from 82-90ish with Clueless.
