> Gas Station Jim Proposes To Pam: This iconic and one of the best Office scenes takes places at the real gas station at 2909 Los Feliz Boulevard in Atwater Village.
This one is incorrect. The commentary on the DVD talks about how they built a set just for this scene so that it could be raining during the proposal. They built a track so cars would go in circles as they filmed. They couldn’t reasonably time filming at an actual location to match the weather and they couldn’t just spray water on a real highway.
The outside shots were always very jarring for me. I grew up in upstate NY (not that far from Scranton), and have lived in CA. It was always just so obvious that the outside scenes were filmed in CA that it disrupted the experience for me.
I wonder how the people who live in the residential house feel about suddenly being a fan destination. The people who bought the breaking bad house have had a rough time.
I live close to Pickwick’s / Poor Richard’s Pub and my friend would always want to meet there for a beer. It’s a fine place, but with the amount of options in LA I figured he was an Office fan but after a few visits I asked him and he said “I’ve never really watched that show. Why do you ask?”
It made me laugh. I guess I’ve seen too many super The Office fans to just assume he liked this odd little pub on Ventura.
