So many productive urban spaces are left as prarking lots & rundown buildings in so many Canadian urban cores as a product of rampant real estate speculation (more accurately, land speculation).
Try to develop a parking lot and the locals get up in arms over lost parking and threaten to never go downtown again if it is challenging to find parking. We can’t have nice things so long as everyone gets to have a say in absolutely everything.
