Well yes, they decide what you're allowed to know and learn about, not you. It would be extremely dangerous if regular plebeians could just look up how to make pharmaceuticals on their own. But this might still become popular because while it gives you the same non-answers as OpenAI & co, it does so without the condescending "I'm afraid as a large language model I can't do that, Dave" part. After all, isn't all the average person is looking for in these things a bit of fun? It's similar to having a conversation on social media, but in a world where you increasingly can't be sure if you're talking with another human or a bot/paid shill, they're now taking out the human factor completely.

This is the ultimate step. It cuts out search engines and humans, it's the corporation straight up telling you what reality is, based on their own curation. In places like China it will be controlled by the Party.
