The implication here is that this is a bad thing (although OP doesn't say that). I'm not sure I think the same. If AI can be used to automate the more tedious parts of writing, that's fine with me.

For me, as long as the paper has been confirmed by the authors as being correct, what is the matter house those words were formed?


It matters.


Honestly, why?


Because we all have to collectively wade through all the bullshit spewed by bots and people who don't even understand why the bullshit was generated or would be able to recreate the same bullshit with the exact same prompt.

Bullshit all the way down. That will be generative AI's final legacy.


Authors use AI to write papers. Reviewers use AI to review them. The community uses AI to summarize them. It is very convenient and weird.
