What turned me off was the illogical premise and the let down of the final reveal.

    The world is in eternal darkness so the aliens powered themselves by birthing/raising/feeding humans as electrical power sources?  I would have thunk the aliens have invented some magical power source like Star Trek's dilithium crystals.  

    The aliens are super powerful and menacing but their attack formation is what prey fish do.  When herring are attacked by tuna, their schools ball up into tighter and tighter formations.  The aliens are supposed to be predators not prey.

    The final reveal is that Neo negotiates with the aliens so that something something, I lost interest by then.  Who cares.
