awesome. Chinese EV innovation continues at a rapid pace - it's going to transform the world. In the meantime, america is defunding EVs and locking themselves technologically into the past. Its so short term and self destructive - the US car industries are quickly going to become irrelevant globally, only selling oversized fossil cars to the domestic market while the rest of the world leaves them behind.
American cars already are irrelevant globally aren't they? The only US car brands I tend to see in Europe are Tesla (not for long though), and Jeep and Chrysler which are now French / Italian owned.
Ford is still somewhat relevant in Europe, though possibly less so than it used to be. It certainly has a decent chunk of the van market, but you don’t see its cars as much as you used to.
Curious to see Tesla reveal what they've been working on. As the leader in EVs (according to this site) I expect nothing less than something better than what BYD have brought to the table.
They’ve been working on AI and autonomy for ages now, it’s not some super secret.
They for sure can’t compete in high end market (which goes against their mission anyway) and low end market is likely to be filled with chinese stuff. The niche they still got is autonomy and premium segment.
Presumably there is a need to transfer a lot of power in a very short timescale. That would seem to be the biggest hurdle to implementing this. The infrastructure would need to support it.
