Show HN: Live network map display with engraved backlighed panels (hackaday.io)

I built a network map display from scratch that shows the current network data rates between our datacenters.

I designed and made a PCB for the LED matrices, created engraved backlight panels, assembled everything locally into a wooden box, and finally connected it to our monitoring system to send and receive live data for display.

It has now been sitting in our office for over a year. While it's mostly a fun gimmick, it can actually be useful for quickly identifying which link goes down when there's an issue ;)

Photos are a bit hard to do correctly, but I've shared most of the details here: https://hackaday.io/project/197354-live-network-map

Have a nice day!
