Google confirms it's 'combining' Chrome OS and Android into a single platform (androidauthority.com)

Does this mean that Chromebooks are going to suddenly have to deal with the bullshit hardened security posture of Android?

Am I not going to be able to root my Chromebook or put another operating system on it now? Will I have to worry about SafetyNet attestation?

Will the recent crippling of AOSP also hinder development of further support for Chromebooks now?

This is a bit of a darker day for the Chromebook ecosystem.

Also combine fuchsia while you are at it. You don’t need so many operating systems
