Do you clean your USB-C ports? I used to get frustrated thinking the port was worn as cables would come out easily. I used a plastic dental pick to clean the port and it felt brand new afterward. Lint and fine debris gets in the port and then a cable insertion compacts that debris/lint. Over time this compaction layer builds up and cables no longer have enough depth to properly lock onto the port. It was shocking how much debris was compacted into the port.
