I think you may be referring to Amherst College (https://www.amherst.edu/academiclife/departments/computer_sc...)

Umass Amherst has a rather substantial CS dept including many well known researchers (http://www.cs.umass.edu/faculty/faculty-directory)

I am referring to Amherst College. I thought tsally was too, since I said I went to Amherst (College, not UMass) in the great-great-grandparent post, but perhaps he misinterpreted me and I misinterpreted his misinterpretation.

I am refering to Amherst College also. Amherst (and similar colleges like Swarthmore), place a surprising number of undergraduates into top 5 CS graduate programs. By surprising number, remember for these size departments that means anywhere between 1-3 per year. I hope I'm not speaking on incorrect information, but I feel like I looked up recent Alumni when I was considering Amherst.

Also, the UMass faculty list is misleading since apparently almost every CS professor in the 5-college system is listed as an "adjunct professor". Scott Kaplan and both McGeochs are actually Amherst professors, and Sami Rollins was my algorithms prof at Mt. Holyoke.
