OTR is important, but I don't think you really want your chat provider also providing the OTR implementation. Better to use a third-party client. Preferably open source.
Doing it browser-based also seems problematic, for all the usual javascript/encryption reasons. I've never heard of people using it in regular Gtalk, though. How does that work? Browser extension?
I've only ever seen things like using Pidgin with OTR, which should still work as long as you have a Google account (aka you don't need XMPP federation to talk to people on google's network).
